Input fields
The height and outline thickness of form fields across the store, including newsletter signup, search, the contact form, cart notes and dropdowns.
Where to find it: In the theme editor, click the gear icon (Theme settings) in the left sidebar, then open Input fields.
Settings
| Height | How tall text fields and dropdowns are, including newsletter, search, contact and cart forms. 44px or more is easier to tap on a phone.
Adjustable from 30px to 80px (default 50px). |
| Border width | The outline thickness of form fields. At 0, fields show only their background color, so make sure Input background differs from the section background.
Adjustable from 0px to 10px (default 2px). |
Tips
- Aim for at least 44px on phones. Shorter fields are fiddly to tap.
- Colors come from the scheme. Field background, text, border and focus colors are set per scheme in Colors → Input.
- Rounding is separate. Field corners are set under Border radius → Input fields.
Troubleshooting
My fields disappear into the background
With Border width at 0, a field shows only its background color. Either add a border or give Input → Background a color different from the section background.
