Blog post card

The image shape of blog post cards, used on your blog page, in search results and in the Blogs section's grid and carousel.

Where to find it: In the theme editor, click the gear icon (Theme settings) in the left sidebar, then open Blog post card.

Settings

Image ratio The shape of the featured image on blog post cards on the blog page, in search results and in the Blogs section's grid and carousel. Adapt to image keeps each image's own shape.

Choose Adapt to image, Landscape (4:3) (default), Portrait (3:4) or Square (1:1).

Tips

  • Use one ratio for tidy rows. Fixed ratios crop every featured image to the same shape. Adapt to image keeps each image whole but can leave rows uneven.
  • Check where the focal point falls. Cropping to a ratio can cut off the edges of wide images. Set a focal point on the image in Shopify admin so the important part stays in view.

Troubleshooting

The image shape didn't change in my Blogs section

The Blogs section's editorial layout on desktop always uses landscape images. The setting applies to its grid and carousel layouts, and to all layouts on mobile. Related posts on article pages always use square images.
