Where to find it: In the theme editor, click the gear icon (Theme settings) in the left sidebar, then open Currency format.

Good for

  • Stores selling in several currencies that share a symbol (US, Canadian and Australian dollars)
  • Making it clear to international shoppers which currency they're paying in

Currency codes

Cart and checkout prices always show currency codes. Example: $1.00 USD.

Show currency codes Adds the currency code after prices on product cards, mini cards and the quick-add panel (for example $25.00 USD instead of $25.00). Useful when you sell in several currencies that share a symbol.

Off by default.

Tips

  • The price format itself is set in Shopify. Symbols, decimals and separators come from Settings → General → Store currency → Change currency formatting in Shopify admin.
  • Checkout always shows the code. Shopify's checkout adds the currency code on its own, whatever you choose here.
