Newsletter
An email signup form. Each signup is added to your Shopify customer list, subscribed to email marketing and tagged newsletter, ready for Shopify Email or any email app connected to your customers.

At a glance: Add it to any page with Add section. Holds up to 1 blocks.
Good for
- Growing your email list from the homepage
- Offering a discount code in exchange for signing up
- A signup with a scrolling strip of photos or a full background image
Find your new subscribers
- In your Shopify admin, go to Customers.
- Filter by Email subscription status set to Subscribed, or by the tag newsletter to see only people who signed up through this form.
- Email apps that sync from Shopify customers pick up new subscribers automatically. If your email tool uses its own signup forms instead, check that it syncs Shopify customers who accept marketing.
How to add the section
- From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes and click Customize on Sublime.
- Open the page you want to edit from the dropdown at the top of the editor.
- In the left sidebar, click Add section.
- Search for Newsletter and select it.
- Drag it into position, adjust the settings below, and click Save.
Section settings
Content
| Caption | Small label above the heading, used for eyebrow text like a category or a date. |
| Heading | The section title. Leave it empty to hide the heading row entirely and let the content start at the top. |
| Heading size | Picks one of the heading sizes defined in Theme settings → Typography, so headings stay consistent across sections instead of being sized one by one.
Choose Default (default), H1, H2, H3, H4, H5 or H6. |
| Description | Body copy shown under the heading. Supports bold, italic and links. |
Form
| Email placeholder | Grey prompt text shown in the empty email field. |
| Helper text | Small print under the form, such as a privacy note or what subscribers will receive. |
| Button label | Text on the button. Leave it empty to hide the button. Two or three words reads best. |
| Button style | Picks one of the button styles defined in Theme settings → Buttons: primary, secondary or tertiary.
Choose Primary (default), Secondary or Tertiary. |
| Button icon | Optional icon shown after the button label.
Choose None (default), Arrow left, Arrow right, Arrow up, Arrow down, Chevron left, Chevron right, Chevron up, Chevron down, Arrow up right, Plus, Minus, Cross, Check, Play, Cart, Shopping cart, Search, Link, Download, Envelope, Home, Edit, User, Login, Heart, Chat, Filter, Trash, Share, Phone, Map pin or Eye. |
Appearance
| Color scheme | Sets the background, text, border and button colors for the section. Schemes are defined once in Theme settings → Colors and reused everywhere, so changing a scheme updates every section using it. |
Spacing
Top and bottom spacing for desktop, with optional separate values for mobile. These are the same controls on every section. See Settings every section shares.
Blocks
Blocks are the individual pieces inside the section. In the sidebar, click Add block under the section to add one, and drag blocks to reorder them. The order in the sidebar is the order on the page.
Scrolling image strip block
| Layout type | The shape of the image strip: a flat row, or an arc that bows inward or outward as it scrolls.
Choose Straight (default), Curved inward or Curved outward. |
Scroll settings
| Scroll direction | Which way the content travels.
Choose Left (default) or Right. |

| Pause on hover | Stops the animation while the pointer is over the section.
Off by default. |
Images
| Image ratio | Crops images to a fixed shape so a row of mismatched uploads still lines up. Choose Adapt to image to keep each image at its own proportions.
Choose Portrait (3:4) (default), Square (1:1) or Landscape (4:3). |
| Image 1 | Custom image for this slot.
1200 x 900px .jpg recommended. |

| Mobile content position | Where the text block sits over the image on mobile.
Choose Top, Center (default) or Bottom. |
Images
| Desktop background image | 2880 x 1280px (large) .jpg recommended. |
| Desktop image size | How tall the background image is on desktop. Adapt to image uses the image's own proportions, so nothing is cropped.
Choose Small, Medium (default), Large or Adapt to image. |
| Mobile background image | 2880 x 1280px (large) .jpg recommended. |
| Mobile image size | How tall the background image is on mobile. Adapt to image uses the image's own proportions, so nothing is cropped.

Adjustable from 0% to 100% (default 20%). |
Tips
- Say what subscribers get. 10% off your first order or New drops every Friday beats Sign up for our newsletter.
- Use Helper text for a privacy note, such as Unsubscribe anytime.
- One signup per page is enough. The footer can hold one too, so skip this section on pages where the footer form is already close by.
Troubleshooting
Where do the signups go?
To Customers in your Shopify admin. Each person is added as a customer subscribed to email marketing, with the tag newsletter.
Subscribers aren't reaching my email app
The form saves signups in Shopify, not directly in the app. Make sure the app syncs subscribed Shopify customers; most do once connected.
Shoppers don't see a success message
After signing up, the page reloads and shows a confirmation under the form. If double opt-in is turned on in your Shopify customer privacy settings, subscribers also get an email to confirm.
I removed the button label and now there's no button
The button only shows with a label. Shoppers can still press Enter to subscribe, but a visible button gets far more signups.
