Apps
A container for app blocks, for apps that don't fit into an existing section.

Good for
- Placing an app's widget, such as reviews, loyalty or a UGC gallery, anywhere on a page
- Adding a custom code snippet with the Custom Liquid block
- Giving an app block the theme's spacing and color scheme
How to add the section
- From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes and click Customize on Sublime.
- Open the page you want to edit from the dropdown at the top of the editor.
- In the left sidebar, click Add section.
- Search for Apps and select it.
- Drag it into position, adjust the settings below, and click Save.
Section settings
Section style
| Color scheme | Sets the background, text, border and button colors for the section. Schemes are defined once in Theme settings → Colors and reused everywhere, so changing a scheme updates every section using it. |
| Top spacing | Space between the top of the section and its content.
Adjustable from 0px to 200px (default 64px). |
| Bottom spacing | Space between the content and the bottom of the section.
Adjustable from 0px to 200px (default 64px). |
| Enable mobile padding controls | Reveals a separate pair of spacing sliders for mobile. Leave it off and mobile reuses the desktop values.
Inherits desktop padding when off Off by default. |

Blocks
Blocks are the individual pieces inside the section. In the sidebar, click Add block under the section to add one, and drag blocks to reorder them. The order in the sidebar is the order on the page.

Tips
- Check whether the app has its own section or block first. Product-page apps usually belong in the product information section instead.
- Use the section's color scheme so the app's widget sits on the same background as the rest of the page.
- Some apps don't use blocks. They're switched on in the App embeds panel of the theme editor instead.
Troubleshooting
My app isn't in the list when I click Add block
Only apps that offer app blocks appear here. Check the app is installed and active, then look in the App embeds panel of the theme editor or follow the app's own instructions.
The app block shows nothing
Most app blocks need setting up in the app itself first. Open the app from your Shopify admin and finish its setup.
