Collection list page

The page listing all your collections at /collections. Collections are pulled in automatically, so it stays current as you add them.

Where to find it: In the theme editor, choose this template from the page dropdown at the top of the screen. Template file: templates/list-collections.json.

Good for

  • A catalog page linking to every collection in the store
  • Showing product counts so shoppers can see where the range is deepest

Section settings

Content

Caption Small label above the heading, used for eyebrow text like a category or a date.
Heading The section title. Leave it empty to hide the heading row entirely and let the content start at the top.
Heading size Picks one of the heading sizes defined in Theme settings → Typography, so headings stay consistent across sections instead of being sized one by one.

Choose Default, H1 (default), H2, H3, H4, H5 or H6.
Description Body copy shown under the heading. Supports bold, italic and links.
Text alignment Aligns the heading and body text left, center or right.

Default: Left.

Collections

Sort collections by The order collections appear in. Product count, high to low puts your biggest collections first.

Choose Alphabetically, A-Z (default), Alphabetically, Z-A, Date, new to old, Date, old to new or Product count, high to low.
Desktop columns How many items sit side by side on desktop.

Choose 3, 4 (default) or 5.
Mobile columns How many items sit side by side on mobile.

Choose 1 or 2 (default).
Pagination style How shoppers move to the next set of items: numbered pages, a load-more button or infinite scroll.

Choose Page numbers (default), Load more button or Infinite scroll.
Collections per page How many collection cards load before the pagination control.

Adjustable from 4 to 40 (default 16).

Card style

Style Visual treatment of each card.

Choose Card (default) or Normal.
Image ratio Crops images to a fixed shape so a row of mismatched uploads still lines up. Choose Adapt to image to keep each image at its own proportions.

Choose Adapt to image, Portrait (3:4) (default), Landscape (4:3) or Square (1:1).
Show description Shows the description text.

Off by default.
Show shop now Adds a shop-now link to each item.

Off by default.
Button style Button style used on cards in this section.

Choose Primary (default), Secondary or Tertiary. Only appears when Show shop now is on.
Text alignment Aligns the text inside each card.

Default: Left.
Show product count Shows the number of products in each collection.

On by default.

Appearance

Color scheme Sets the background, text, border and button colors for the section. Schemes are defined once in Theme settings → Colors and reused everywhere, so changing a scheme updates every section using it.
Card color scheme Color scheme for cards inside the section, so they can sit apart from the section background.

Only appears when Style is not Normal.

Spacing

Top and bottom spacing for desktop, with optional separate values for mobile. These are the same controls on every section. See Settings every section shares.

Tips

  • Give every collection an image. Cards use the collection image; collections without one look unfinished next to those with one.
  • Sort by product count to put your biggest collections first, or alphabetically when shoppers will scan for a name.
  • Hide collections you don't want listed by removing them from the Online Store sales channel. The page lists every published collection.

Troubleshooting

A collection is missing from the page

The page lists collections available on the Online Store sales channel. Check the collection's Sales channels in the admin.

The descriptions aren't showing

Turn on Show description and add a description to each collection in the admin.
